For over fifty years, American Cleaners has been providing quality dry-cleaning at a great price in the St. Louis area. Below is a brief description of the services we provide.

Dry-Cleaning

We can dry-clean most garments in your wardrobe. Dry-cleaning is a process of cleaning clothing and textiles using a solvent other than water. Your clothes are cleaned in a safe solution, the solution is extracted, and your garments are steam pressed. At American Cleaners we care for the environment and have changed from using “perc” to using an environmentally friendly solvent at almost every location.

We offer same day service on most dry-cleanable garments – times vary by location. (Excludes Sundays and holidays.)

Shirt Laundry

Our state-of-the-art shirt presses offer the best looking press job on men’s business shirts in the St. Louis area. Shirts are washed with soap and your preference of starch. After the shirts are washed, they are pressed while wet. Be sure to let us know whether you prefer your shirts on a hanger or folded.

Some ladies blouses can be safely commercially laundered. This process is not the same as your home washer. For a ladies blouse to be commercially laundered, it must be a plain shirt that is similar in size and style to a men’s business shirt. Blouses that do not fit that description can be damaged in a commercial shirt laundry and should be dry-cleaned.

Some shirts are not suitable for a commercial laundry – shirts with pearl snap buttons, corduroy shirts, shirts with leather patches, wool shirts, silk or rayon shirts, shirts that do not have a button at the neck, some small sizes of shirts, shirts with ruffles – they should be dry-cleaned for best results.

We can also launder and press jeans (all laundered pants are starched), lab coats, tablecloths, and napkins.

Repairs

We offer a variety of reasonably priced repair services to help make your clothes fit and look their best. We can hem your slacks, replace a zipper, mend a seam, and most other garment repairs. Processing a repair takes about a week. Garments must be cleaned by American Cleaners before being repaired unless the garment is brand new, unworn, with tags attached.

Household Items

American Cleaners can clean most of your household items, including comforters, draperies, pillow shams, dust ruffles, duvet covers, and sleeping bags.

Bridal Gown Cleaning & Preservation

A wedding gown is an important keepsake! We offer wedding gown cleaning and preservation. Please allow two weeks for special processing and preservation of a wedding gown. Expedited service of one week is available upon request.

Leather, Suede, and Man-made Furs

Leather, Suede, and man-made fur garments require special processing. We have over fifty years experience in professionally cleaning leather, suede, and man-made fur garments. We have the expertise and equipment as well as the professional training necessary to provide you with the best and safest leather cleaning services in the St Louis area.

Down

We can safely clean your down coat as well as your down comforter or down sleeping bag.
